Combustion aerodynamics

Location- Austin, Texas, US

Job description :

As a combustion aerodynamics engineer, you will have the responsibility to design,  develop and upgrade combustion modules and systems. Scientific system formulation, 3D multi-physics combustion simulation, prototype construction, and combustion control will be the core aspects of your project management roles. Early system analysis and control dynamics diagnostics planning for prototype construction and management in the test rig be your responsibility. 

Core responsibilities :

    • Design, develop, and analysis the combustor module and combustion systems
    • Guide team on the are some of the low-level CFD validation processes of - LES-based multi-physics combustion kinetics, Complex species transport, and dynamic flame control with sub-system role involvement 
    • Virtual prototype system integration and tuning
    • System hybrid testing and hybrid data analysis
    • Communication with multi-domain engineering teams and project stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements :

    • Aerospace Engineering-
(Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience OR  
Advanced Degree and 5 years of experience OR
    • Advanced understanding of turbomachinery combustion aerodynamics
    • Advanced understanding of advanced aero-propulsion system combustion aerodynamics
    • Advanced understanding of simulation solver packages
    • Molecular dynamics
    • Numerical simulation methodologies
    • Manufacturing processes 
    • Experience in cycle analysis
    • US Citizenship
